Our history

SEQTA Software is a division of Saron Education Ltd, an unlisted public company founded in 2006.

Early in 2006, CEO and founding Director, Grant Grosser, while a deputy principal at a large K–12 private school noticed that the need for relief teachers was substantially higher at the end of each term as teachers succumbed to illness due to workloads and stress. After spending a substantial amount of time in research, Grant saw the need for a company dedicated to finding solutions to what he was convinced was a global crisis in teaching, and decided to tackle the issue of teacher and administrator workloads head on.

By April 2006 Grant, who had previously developed reporting, attendance, and behaviour management software for his school, had come up with a unique concept for software that would substantially reduce teacher and admininistrator workloads by integrating every aspect of the teaching / learning environment of a school into a single, web-based software package.

By August 2006, the concept for Teachers’ Assistant was well advanced, patent applications were progressing, and developers were employed to being work on this watershed piece of software.

Teachers’ Assistant began trials in January 2008 in a small number of schools. In 2009, this was extended to involve 10 schools. In May 2009, version 1 of Teachers’ Assistant was released and the refinement of the software continued. Thanks to the experience and feedback of approximately 300 teachers using version 1, a continuous process of refinement and development was possible and resulted in version 1.5 being released in Augusty 2009.

A second product, SEQTA Coneqt, began development in May 2009. SEQTA Coneqt is a portal-style interface for students and parents that allows them to tap into the wealth of information and resources held within Teachers’ Assistant, making the Seqta Suite the world’s first Fully Integrated Learning Management System (FILMS).

Why is the FILMS concept unique? Essentially, because teachers don’t need to do anything other than their normal programming, planning, and assessment to gain all of the benefits of the LMS.

SEQTA Software was formed as the software division of Saron Education Ltd in July 2009 and continues to go from strength to strength, with full scale marketing having begun in August 2009.

Our team

SEQTA Software has a dedicated team of outstanding staff with an excellent knowledge and understanding of their individual roles. Despite the fact that all SEQTA products are sold as a service, the management, maintenance, and support requirements for the software are very low, allowing us to keep the team small, and the cost to schools low, while providing the highest standards of service.
